OpenSourceScotland is an association website for any company operating in Scotland who uses, supports or promotes Open Source Software technologies.
UKUUG - the UK's Unix and Open Systems User Group - is a non-profit organization and technical forum for the advocacy of open systems, particularly Unix and Unix-like operating systems, the promotion of free and open-source software, and the advancement of open programming standards and networking protocols.
It uniquely caters for the needs of people in this area. Formed in 1976 is totally funded by membership subscriptions and is completely independent of specific hardware and software vendors. All profits are used to further the activities of the organization.
The trade body for the information and communications technologies (ICT) industry, ScotlandIS represents around 200 software, telecomms, IT and creative technologies businesses throughout Scotland.
Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC) is North East Scotland's leading private sector, member-focused, business organisation. The Chamber represents more than 1200 businesses with 86,000 employees covering all industry sectors, ranging in size from sole traders to multi-national corporations. The Chamber works at local, national and international level to provide a comprehensive portfolio of business services, support and advocacy.
The FSB is the largest campaigning pressure group promoting and protecting the interests of the self-employed and owners of small firms. Formed in 1974, it now has over 210,000 members across 33 regions and 230 branches. On the member benefits side, it offers assistance and support 24 hours a day, while its lobbying arm - led by the Westminster Press and Parliamentary office - applies pressure on MPs, Government and Whitehall, lobbies politicians in their constituencies and puts the FSB viewpoint over to the media.
